Peddi Audience Review: Fans Disappointed With Janhvi's Objectification In Film; Say 'Her Scenes Are Vulgar'
Peddi Audience Review: Ram Charan is here with the much talked about Peddi and it has got everyone brimming with an opinion. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is a sports drama which features Ram Charan in the titular role along with Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu and Boman Irani. Touted to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2026, Peddi marked Ram Charan's first collaboration with Janhvi Kapoor and was released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. While the movie opened to mixed reviews, it is also facing a massive backlash within 24 hours of its release.

While the social media is abuzz with tweets hailing Ram Charan's performance and even termed it as his career best stint, the movie's weak storyline and screenplay was criticised by the audience. On the other hand, Janhvi Kapoor's character has also become the talk of the town as the fans are quite disappointed with her objectification in the movie and emphasised that the actress deserved better. A Twitter user wrote, "the heroine deserved a character. Instead she got a string of vulgar, degrading, objectifying scenes stitched together and called a role. It ain't bold.. it ain't glamorous.. it's just poor & cringe writing.. a complete embarrassment to every women in the audience". Another user tweeted, "Jhanvi scenes in the first half are outright vulgar and crass.. but obsession mathram censor chesestham.. luchas @CBFC_India".

Interestingly, as Peddi opened to mixed reviews, it was also seen struggling in the Hindi belt and failed to earn Rs 3cr until 8pm on the opening day. However, the movie managed to cross Rs 57cr including premieres in India.
Meanwhile, during an event, director Buchi Babu Sana lauded Peddi lead actress Janhvi Kapoor and asserted, "We are all huge admirers of your mother, Sridevi garu. Janhvi has played Achayamma beautifully, and hers is one of the most important roles in the film. Her performance in the climax is outstanding. There is a strong sense of heroism in her character, and I am grateful that she became part of this journey".
