Why AAP Replaced Raghav Chadha In Rajya Sabha?
The Aam Aadmi Party has moved the Rajya Sabha secretariat to change its leadership in the Upper House, seeking the removal of Punjab MP Raghav Chadha as deputy leader and proposing another Punjab representative, Ashok Mittal, for the post, sources told PTI.
People aware of the communication said the letter also asks that Raghav Chadha, who is a Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, should no longer receive speaking time in the House from the Aam Aadmi Party quota, indicating a sharp shift in the party’s internal stance.
The decision follows Raghav Chadha’s extended public silence on Aam Aadmi Party affairs and repeated absences from key programmes led by AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, signalling a growing distance between the politician and the party’s central leadership in Parliament, the report in PTI suggested. No official statement has been issued about Raghav's replacement as of writing.

As the Aam Aadmi Party moved to replace MP Raghav Chadha as its deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, the politician reacted with a subtle response. Instead of a direct statement, he posted a video on social media hours after the decision.
The montage-style video highlighted several issues that he had earlier raised in the Parliament. From alleged exam paper leaks to paternity leave policy, the clip featured the issues he raised during different sessions.
Raghav's wife and Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra liked the Instagram post, extending support to her husband in her own way.
Earlier, Parineeti lauded Raghav for raising the issue of paternity leave for a father in Parliament. As the politician urged the Upper House to make paternity leave legal in India, he received praise from all corners, including his wife.
She wrote, "Proud to say that this thoughtful leader - solving issue after issue for the public - is my husband and my baby's father! Seeing you as a hands-on father every day, I KNOW how personal this is for you! Proud of you. Today, every mother who feels alone and is left alone is going to feel seen and heard today! (sic)"
Parineeti and Raghav tied the knot in a grand ceremony in Udaipur's The Leela Palace in 2023. The couple has been blessed with a baby boy in October 2025. They have named their son Neer.
