Raveena Tandon's Mother's Caretaker Arrested For Stealing Gold & Diamond Jewellery Worth Rs 25 Lakh
A 47-year-old woman who worked as a caretaker has been arrested for allegedly stealing gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs 25 lakh from the home of actor Raveena Tandon’s brother, with Juhu police probing how the valuables disappeared from the family residence.

Investigators said the suspect, identified as Khar resident Rashi Chhabria, had been helping care for Raveena Tandon’s elderly mother, Veena Tandon. According to police, Chhabria was treated as a trusted aide within the household and was familiar with the family’s daily routine.
Raveena Tandon jewellery theft case: access and trust built over years
In the complaint, Rajiv Tandon stated that Chhabria began visiting the family in 2020 through mutual contacts. After the deaths of her husband and parents, she allegedly grew closer to the household, and was gradually allowed free movement inside the house, including areas usually limited to family members.
The FIR records that only close relatives and Chhabria were allowed to enter the second floor, where jewellery and watches were stored. Police said this floor housed the safe from which the valuables were later reported missing, making the limited access list crucial for the Raveena Tandon jewellery theft case investigation.

According to officials, the alleged theft surfaced in October last year when the family checked the safe. They found it forced open, with several gold and diamond ornaments missing, along with two luxury wristwatches. Police assessed the total value of the stolen property at Rs 25 lakh.

Raveena Tandon jewellery theft case: FIR account and missing jewellery
The FIR states that when Rajiv Tandon confronted Chhabria about the missing items, Chhabria first denied any role. The complaint adds that Chhabria later admitted involvement, returned the two watches, and claimed the jewellery had been passed to an associate named Jagdish for safekeeping and eventual return.
Police said the family continued to contact Chhabria, seeking the jewellery back, but the ornaments were not returned. According to the complaint, the accused woman allegedly kept assuring the family about recovery, while the Raveena Tandon jewellery theft case file with Juhu police expanded to track the named associate.
Raveena Tandon jewellery theft case: threat allegation and ongoing probe
The complainant has further alleged that Chhabria used an associate who posed as a police informer to issue threats. This person allegedly warned Rajiv Tandon that a false narcotics case would be filed if demands for the jewellery continued, adding an intimidation angle to the Raveena Tandon jewellery theft case.
Juhu police arrested Chhabria on May 21 and produced Chhabria in court, which sent Chhabria to police custody till May 29. Officers said work is in progress to trace the missing ornaments, verify the role of Jagdish and the claimed informer, and collect more evidence in the Raveena Tandon jewellery theft case.
