Ram Leela Fame Shveta Salve On Heer Sara: “What I Love Most About The Film Is Its Honesty”
Known for her recent appearance in The Royals and her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram-Leela, actress Shveta Salve will next be seen in Heer Sara, directed by Kartik Chaudhry and starring Manvi Gagroo and Patralekhaa in the lead. Set for a theatrical release on June 12, 2026, the film explores the complexities of relationships, choices, and self-discovery. Ahead of its release, Shveta opened up about her character, her co-stars, and what makes the film special.

Speaking about what made her say yes to the film, Shveta shared, "What drew me to the film was the journey of these two girls, especially Patralekhaa's character trying to reunite with her mother. As for Lalitha, I loved that despite her vulnerabilities and coming from a small town, she had big dreams and aspirations. The fact that she chose to take risks and follow those dreams showed immense courage. That courage is what made me connect with the character and say yes to the film."
The actress also spoke fondly about working alongside her co-stars for the first time and the camaraderie they shared during filming. "I met Patralekhaa for the first time on this film, and it was such a lovely experience. She's warm, humble, and wonderful to work with. I didn't know Manvi personally either, though we had common friends, so it was a pleasure getting to know her as well. The three of us genuinely had a great time together during the shoot."
Recalling some of the lighter moments from the set, Shveta revealed, "One of the funniest running jokes on set was about me playing Patralekhaa's mother. The girls would constantly tease me, asking, 'From which angle do you look like a mom?' We even joked about adding extra grey hair to make me look more convincing. Those little personal jokes and moments of laughter became some of my favourite memories from the shoot."
What stands out most for Shveta about Heer Sara is its honesty and refusal to offer easy judgments on its characters.
"What I love most about this film is its honesty. It doesn't try to justify anyone's mistakes or choices. Every character is flawed, every character makes decisions that may not always be right, but the film allows them to exist without judgment. Lalitha makes mistakes, Patralekhaa's character rebels against her father, and every person in the story is simply navigating life in their own way. That's what makes the film feel so real."
Apart from Manvi Gagroo and Patralekhaa, Heer Sara also features Arif Zakaria and Nishank Verma in pivotal roles. The film is creatively backed by producer Raj Singh Chaudhary, known for acclaimed films such as Gulaal and Thar. Backed by Sony Music India, Heer Sara is produced by Maghaa Creations, Next Level Productions, and Opticus Inc.
