Ramayana Teaser: Vindu Dara Singh Is All Praises For Ranbir's Film; Reveals Big Condition For Its Success

The Ramayana Part 1 teaser introduces Ranbir Kapoor as Rama amid praise for its large scale visuals and VFX, while commentators stress preserving Ramanand Sagar's legacy. Industry observers anticipate strong box office potential if the adaptation respects mythic roots and resonates with family audiences ahead of a Diwali release.

The first teaser of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Part 1 has finally landed online, drawing mixed yet largely favourable reactions. Viewers are especially focusing on Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of Lord Rama, while industry observers already predict big box-office numbers if the film connects with family audiences across India. Trade experts believe Ramayana could challenge records set by Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar franchise, directed by Aditya Dhar. Dhurandhar features Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in important roles, and has set a strong benchmark for large-scale mythological and action-led cinema.

Ramayana teaser and Vindu Dara Singh reaction

Vindu Dara Singh, son of late actor Dara Singh, has now reacted to the Ramayana teaser. During an interview with DNA, Vindu Dara Singh said the visuals look spectacular and very beautiful. However, Vindu Dara Singh also reminded viewers that Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan holds a special place and is considered historic television. According to Vindu Dara Singh, the film can become a record-breaking success only if it respects that legacy. Vindu Dara Singh feels that a faithful new interpretation of Ramayana, matching the spirit of Ramanand Sagar’s show, will win over audiences. If the makers take too many liberties, Vindu Dara Singh believes viewers may reject the project."It looks spectacular, very beautiful. But there is a strict rule. Jo Ramayan Ramanand Sagar ji ki bane hai, woh hum sabke dil-o-dimaag poori fit hai. Woh jo Ramayan hai, woh historic hai, number one hai. Agar yeh picture uske saath match ho gayi, then it will be superhit. It will be a record-breaking hit. Kuch bhi deviation agar ki, jaise is mein woh khatarnaak (asur) se dikh rahe hai, toh agar zyada upar-neeche kiya, toh people will not accept it," he stated.

Ramayana teaser, VFX and Ranbir Kapoor as Rama

Praising the visual scale, Vindu Dara Singh highlighted the work of producer Namit Malhotra and the VFX team. The actor said, "Namit Malhotra knows how to ace visuals. So special effects will be mind-blowing, but if they have not followed Sagar Saab's Ramayan, then it will create a major problem for them." Vindu Dara Singh also felt Ranbir Kapoor looks fantastic as Lord Rama.

The emotional weight of the project is strong for Vindu Dara Singh because Dara Singh famously played Hanuman in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan in the 1980s. That series starred Arun Govil, Dipika Chikhlia and Sunil Lahri in lead roles, and became a cultural reference point for how many Indians visualise characters from the epic.

Ramayana Part 1 has already started its promotional campaign with an event in the US before the teaser drop on YouTube. The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra. Early online chatter shows mixed to positive views, with many users debating the depiction of mythology and the tone of the adaptation.

The cast list reflects the project’s scale. Along with Ranbir Kapoor, the film features Ravie Dubey, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Yash, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Vivek Oberoi, Rakul Preet Singh, Indira Krishnan and others in key roles. The story will cover Lord Rama’s life from birth through the battle with Ravana.

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is planned in two parts. Ramayana – Part 1 is scheduled to release in theatres on Diwali 2026, while the second instalment is set for Diwali 2027. Vindu Dara Singh also shared that Nitesh Tiwari’s vision for the epic is, in Vindu Dara Singh’s view, far stronger than Prabhas’ Adipurush.

With a festive release, a star-heavy cast and high expectations around its visual style, Ramayana Part 1 carries significant pressure. Audience comparisons with Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan and recent mythological films are inevitable, and the film’s success may depend on how carefully it balances spectacle with devotion to the original epic.
