Ranveer Singh Covers Face In First Appearance After FWICE Ban Amid Don 3 Controversy, Avoids Paps - VIDEO

Ranveer Singh was seen at Mumbai airport on Monday night, covering the lower half of the face and steering clear of cameras, in a first public outing since the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor over the Don 3 dispute.

The sighting came as Ranveer Singh continued to attract attention for the ongoing disagreement with Farhan Akhtar about Don 3, a project that Ranveer Singh exited earlier, which has now led to a formal ban notice from FWICE and a separate compensation claim from the film’s producers.

Ranveer Singh FWICE ban and low-key Mumbai airport appearance

Videos shared on social media showed Ranveer Singh stepping out of a car at Mumbai airport and heading towards the terminal gate. Ranveer Singh did not acknowledge the paparazzi gathered outside, kept the head turned away from flashing lights, and wore a mask that concealed much of the face.

Photographers called out to Ranveer Singh while tracking the brief walk from the vehicle to the entrance, but Ranveer Singh avoided looking at the lenses and moved quickly into the building, marking a quiet return to the public eye after FWICE’s announcement a day earlier on May 25.

Ranveer Singh FWICE ban linked to Don 3 fallout with Farhan Akhtar

Ranveer Singh’s issues with FWICE are tied to the fallout with Farhan Akhtar over Don 3, which Excel Entertainment is producing. Ranveer Singh had earlier walked out of the film, and the federation now says the actor did not comply with repeated calls to clarify the decision in person.

FWICE stated that several attempts were made to reach Ranveer Singh for a meeting before the directive was passed. When Ranveer Singh did not appear, the body moved ahead with a non-cooperation order, effectively asking members of the film industry to avoid working with the actor until further notice.

Ranveer Singh FWICE ban, Excel Entertainment claim and official response

Alongside the FWICE move, Excel Entertainment, the banner backing Don 3, has sought financial damages from Ranveer Singh. The company is demanding Rs 45 crore, which it says covers pre-production expenditure that was incurred before Ranveer Singh stepped away from the project.

As debate around the situation grew, Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson issued a detailed statement stressing that Ranveer Singh does not want to fuel speculation or public arguments about Don 3 and considers disputes of this nature to be professional matters that should stay away from the glare of constant commentary.

"Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect," a part of the statement read.

"While several narratives and speculations have surfaced over time, Ranveer has never considered it necessary to respond publicly or contribute to conjecture. His focus remains firmly on his work and the commitments ahead," it added.

Ranveer Singh was last seen on screen in Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, and with FWICE’s directive, the Don 3 dispute, and Excel Entertainment’s compensation demand still unresolved, attention now stays on how the actor, Farhan Akhtar, the producers and the federation address the standoff in the coming weeks.
