Don 3 Row: Ranveer Singh Finds Support From Ram Gopal Varma As Director SLAMS FWICE: Brutal Truth Is...

Ranveer Singh Don 3 controversy: Since December last year, Ranveer Singh has faced claims of walking out of Farhan Akhtar's film shortly before production. The dispute drew sharper focus after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees issued a non-cooperation notice, which many in the industry described as a de facto ban.

The directive from the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, commonly known as FWICE, asked members to avoid working with Ranveer Singh. The order followed complaints linked to Ranveer Singh’s alleged sudden exit from Don 3. The move surprised many workers and film personalities, as Ranveer Singh’s stock rose after Dhurandhar’s strong box office performance and wide public support.

Ranveer Singh FWICE ban: Ram Gopal Varma questions federation’s stand

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has now publicly criticised FWICE and strongly backed Ranveer Singh. Posting on X, Ram Gopal Varma argued that the directive against Ranveer Singh would not hold. Ram Gopal Varma also claimed the federation is clinging to influence, while the dispute between the actor and the Don 3 makers remains unresolved in public.

On X, Ram Gopal Varma wrote a long message calling for attention to shift away from Ranveer Singh. The filmmaker posted: "BAN "FWICE" and not @RanveerOfficial. The so called "BAN" or non co operation in the style of Gandhiji, will eventually become a BIG FAT JOKE on FWICE. This isn't industry or worker protection, like they are claiming. It is just a pure performative muscle flexing, by an extremely outdated union system, desperately trying to hold on to their grip. Whether it claims to speak for over 5 lakh or 50 lakh workers, the brutal truth is that most of those lakhs don't even know the internal facts of the two parties dispute."

Ram Gopal Varma argued that FWICE lacks formal authority to adjudicate such matters. According to Ram Gopal Varma, the body is neither a court of law nor a government-approved regulator. Ram Gopal Varma stated that the disagreement over Don 3 should be settled directly by the involved company and Ranveer Singh, without outside penalties like a non-cooperation call.

Ram Gopal Varma also claimed that some industry figures feel threatened by Ranveer Singh after Dhurandhar’s success. Ram Gopal Varma wrote that decisions are sometimes made privately by a small circle. According to Ram Gopal Varma, this group includes "actors who are scared sh*tless with the mega success of @RanveerOfficial in Dhurandhar".

Ram Gopal Varma then suggested that the scale of the row contrasts sharply with Ranveer Singh’s commercial draw. RGV wrote: "Here we arrive at the main point that everyone in their heart knows including the disputing company, and for that matter even FWICE, that If @RanveerOfficial simply nods a yes, there will be a one kilometre long queue of producers outside his house tomorrow morning with cheques ready."

Closing the series of posts, Ram Gopal Varma emphasised that stars drive employment and ticket sales, not FWICE. Ram Gopal Varma wrote: "It is stars like @RanveerOfficial who sell tickets at the theatres and not FWICE. It is stars like @RanveerOfficial who create employment to those lakhs of FWICE workers and not FWICE. It is only because stars like @RanveerOfficial exist, that the industry exists, and also the FWICE exists. So in a summation, here is my unsolicited advise to all concerned. Let's not poke our unwanted noses into a civil dispute between 2 parties." The comments add another sharp voice to the continuing dispute around Ranveer Singh, FWICE, Dhurandhar and Don 3.
