Rohit Shetty House Firing Case: 6 Arrested From Rajasthan After Threats From Lawrence Bishnoi Gang

The Rohit Shetty firing case is under investigation as Mumbai Police identify links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Eleven suspects, including individuals from Pune and Rajasthan, are in custody as authorities trace weapon supply, scheduling, and potential threats to Bollywood figures.

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty is at the centre of a serious security probe after shots were fired outside the Juhu residence on January 31. Mumbai Police now say 11 accused are in custody, including six recently arrested in Rajasthan, as investigators track alleged links to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang.

Police registered a case of attempted murder after unknown attackers reportedly fired four rounds in the evening near Rohit Shetty’s residential tower. No one was injured, but officers rushed to the spot, collected ballistic samples and placed heavy security around the building while the Crime Branch began tracing the shooters’ movements.

Officials later said Lawrence Bishnoi's gang had claimed responsibility for the firing through a Facebook post. Investigators began examining links between the social media claim and suspects held across Maharashtra and Rajasthan, checking whether the attack was meant as a direct warning to Rohit Shetty or part of a wider intimidation pattern.

The first major breakthrough came on February 1, when Mumbai Police detained five men from Pune. The accused were identified as Aman Anand Marote, aged 27, Aditya Gyaneshwar Gayaki, aged 19, Siddharth Deepak Yenpure, aged 20, Samarth Shivsharan Pomaji, aged 18, and 23-year-old Swapnil Bandu Sakat.

Investigators believe this group from Pune is linked to the Bishnoi network and played a role in the firing near Rohit Shetty’s home. According to police, the weapon supplier had allegedly been associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang for about four years before the January incident.

The supplier was identified as Asaram Fasle, who the Mumbai Crime Branch said worked as a garage mechanic. Officials stated that Fasle got drawn into the Bishnoi group under the influence of Shubham Lonkar, described by investigators as the suspected mastermind in the Baba Siddiqui murder case.

Crime Branch officers allege Asaram Fasle passed the weapons to accused Swapnil Sakat on instructions from Shubham Lonkar. Police believe those arms were then handed to an unidentified shooter, who used them in the January 31 attack near the Juhu tower, before returning towards Pune along a tracked scooter route.

The latest six arrests from Rajasthan, now brought to Mumbai for questioning, add to that chain, taking the total held in the Rohit Shetty firing case to 11. Officers are checking whether the Rajasthan suspects helped plan logistics or acted as intermediaries between the alleged Bishnoi handlers and ground operatives.

The case also sits within a rising threat backdrop for film stars. Police sources say Ranveer Singh recently received a WhatsApp voice note demanding Rs 10 crore. Actor Ayush Sharma, Salman Khan’s brother-in-law, reportedly got a Proton Mail threat email from a sender allegedly tied to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

On February 14, Mumbai Police recorded statements from the managers of Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh and recreated the firing sequence outside Shetty’s residence, retracing the scooter journey from Pune. The same gang has earlier threatened Salman Khan over the Black Buck Poaching case during the shoot of Hum Saath Saath Hai in Rajasthan.
