Rohit Shetty House Firing Update: Vehicle With A Masked Man Traced In CCTV Footage - Deets Inside
Mumbai Police continue to investigate the Rohit Shetty house firing, tracing the Honda Dio scooter linked to Pune and detaining suspects for custodial questioning while examining connections to a larger network.
A CCTV clip of a masked scooter rider has given Mumbai Police a fresh lead in the firing outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Juhu home, with investigators now tracking the Honda Dio used and questioning several suspects linked to the attack. Officers have matched the scooter seen in the footage to a vehicle traced to Pune and say the shooter, who remains unidentified, collected it from a spot in Juhu before firing four rounds near Rohit Shetty’s residential tower on Sunday, though no injuries were reported.

Rohit Shetty house firing update: Key arrests and court custody
According to police sources, five people detained in the case have been produced before the Criminal Court, and investigators have secured four days of police custody to question the accused further about the firing and their alleged links with the wider network involved.
The defence lawyer argued in court that the accused have no connection with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and claimed they have no knowledge about the firing, while also stating that the accused is ready to cooperate with investigators during the custodial interrogation.
Rohit Shetty house firing update: Trail of the Honda Dio scooter
Investigators say the Honda Dio scooter, central to the case, was first purchased four months ago by a Pune resident, identified as Marote, who later sold it for Rs 30,000 to accused Aditya Gayaki only a few days before the incident and took Gayaki’s signature on a blank sheet.
| Person | Alleged role in case |
|---|---|
| Aditya Gayaki | Bought Honda Dio, left it at Juhu location |
| Samarth Pomaji | Accompanied Gayaki while placing scooter |
| Shubham Lonkar | Alleged handler giving instructions from abroad |
| Marote | Original buyer of scooter from Pune |
Police sources say Gayaki and another arrested accused, Samarth Pomaji, rode the scooter to Mumbai and abandoned it at a planned spot in the Juhu area, where they were allegedly acting under the direct instructions of suspected handler Shubham Lonkar, believed to be operating from outside India.
Officers have not yet established whether Marote knew the scooter would be used for a crime, and sources add that two of the four arrested accused were in touch with Lonkar, while all of them reportedly remained unaware of the shooter’s identity even as they moved the vehicle from Pune to Mumbai.
Rohit Shetty house firing update: Investigation pattern and scene examination
Investigators say Lonkar instructed the yet-unidentified shooter to collect the scooter from the Juhu pickup point and open fire, following a pattern seen in earlier cases where several small groups handle separate tasks for a single crime to make tracking the mastermind more difficult.
After the shots were fired outside Rohit Shetty’s building, police and forensic teams quickly sealed the area, examined the crime scene and deployed heavy security around the tower, with officers stating that the investigation is active and all possible angles are being checked to trace everyone involved.
