Rozlyn Khan’s First Mecca Visit On World Cancer Day: ‘It Took Me Three Years To Find The Courage To Dream'

World Cancer Day turned deeply emotional for actress, PETA model and cancer survivor Rozlyn Khan as she embarked on her first ever journey to Mecca for Umrah, a step she says once felt impossible during her darkest days.

Rozlyn Khan s First Mecca Visit On World Cancer Day

For Rozlyn, this journey is layered with memories that still feel close to the surface. Years ago, she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer with D9 spine metastasis. Recalling those days, she shared, "There was a time when hospitals felt like my whole world. I remember thinking in those moments that survival itself was enough. Dreams, travel, prayer, everything else felt too far away."

Even after completing treatment, the struggle did not end. The aftermath of cancer brought its own set of challenges. Opening up about the long road back, Rozlyn said, "It has left me with permanent weakness. It took me three years to find the courage to dream again and plan my Umrah."

She further admitted, "There were days when I questioned my faith, not because it was weak, but because I was tired."

Sharing what this Mecca visit truly represents, Rozlyn reflected, "We fight every day. When we smile, the world assumes we're fine. But only a few cancer survivors know the courage it takes to smile while living a completely new normal."

She added, "Healing doesn't mean you go back to who you were. You learn how to live as someone new."

Talking about Rozlyn, she has recently chosen to embrace her birth name, Rehana Khan. A former Gladrags model and a committed PETA campaigner, she has also made her mark through projects like Dhama Choukdhi and Crime Alert on Dangal TV.
