Salman Khan Steps In Amid Don 3 Tension, Calls Ranveer Singh And Farhan Akhtar To End Ongoing Rift: Report
Salman Khan has reportedly stepped into the ongoing Don 3 dispute between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar. Salman has spoken to both, urging them to settle the matter calmly and resume the stalled project. Salman has also advised the two to avoid any further involvement of film bodies or third parties while resolving their differences.

According to reports, Salman encouraged Ranveer and Farhan to think of the wider film community and not only individual projects. Salman is said to have stressed that the Don 3 controversy should not damage long-term professional relations. The conversation reportedly focused on finding a middle ground so that work on Don 3 can restart.
Don 3 dispute: Salman Khan’s mediation and private talks
A source quoted by Bollywood Hungama claimed that Salman personally reached out to both sides. The source said, "Salman Khan is fond of Ranveer Singh, and is equally fond of the Akhtars too. He picked up the call on both the stakeholders, and has asked them to resolve their issues without hurting the future of their respective projects. He explained to Farhan about creative differences being a common thing in the industry for decades, and he also had a long chat with Ranveer, understanding his stance. He is playing the cupid to ensure that no one feels sabotaged."
The Don 3 dispute grew after Ranveer reportedly exited the film over creative disagreements. Several online reports mention that Ranveer and Farhan did not agree on the direction of the lead character. What started as a casting change soon turned into a larger Don 3 controversy, drawing in producers, trade bodies and legal teams.
Don 3 dispute: creative differences, FWICE action and compensation demand
Reports stated that Ranveer wanted a darker, more aggressive Don with stronger language and more violence. Farhan reportedly preferred to keep the tone closer to the earlier films. Reports also suggested that Ranveer was upset with repeated production delays and the absence of a final locked script before major commitments.
After Ranveer’s departure, Farhan contacted the Federation of Western India Cine Employees. FWICE then issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer on May 25. The federation said Ranveer did not attend multiple meetings or present the actor’s version in person, despite reminders. This directive has added another legal and professional layer to the Don 3 controversy.
Excel Entertainment, which is producing Don 3, has demanded financial compensation from Ranveer. The company is reportedly asking for Rs 45 crore to cover pre-production costs incurred before Ranveer’s exit. These expenses relate to planning, development and preparatory work linked to the Don 3 dispute and the halted schedule.

The spokesperson’s note read, "Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect," a part of the statement read. With Salman now attempting to mediate, the film industry is watching whether the Don 3 dispute can be settled and the project revived.
