Seven And A Half Dates Release Date: Shaalien Malhotra & Suyyash Rai’s Directorial Series Set To Hit Screens

Making his writing and directorial debut, actor Shaalien Malhotra has announced the release date of India's first musical web series, Seven and a Half Dates. With 8 new episodes featuring 8 new and refreshing compositions, the series is set to hit screens on 24th May on YouTube channel of Novice Records. The series is directed by Shaalien Malhotra and Suyyash Rai.

When two complete opposites are matched by mistake, what begins as an awkward date turns into something real-until fear, timing, and silence get in the way of love.

Shaalien Malhotra, Writer-Director-Producer, said, "After spending over a decade as an actor, I've always been someone who wanted to keep learning and exploring beyond just performing. Over the years, I ventured into production with Luck Films and worked on ads, but writing was always something very personal to me. Contrary to what many would expect, I'm actually a hardcore romantic at heart and wanted to tell a story that feels real and relatable. The idea for Seven and a Half Dates came together when Suyyash asked if I had a story, and from there everything fell into place naturally. Working alongside one of my closest friends of 17 years made the journey even more special because we both connected with the vision in the same way. One of the highlights for me was directing Karan, whom I've known for almost 20 years, even before I moved to Mumbai, along with my friend Surbhi, with whom I've shared a long association over the years. More than friends, they truly brought the characters to life and elevated them beyond what I had imagined. At its core, this show is for anyone who has ever been in love, is in love, or believes in love."

Suyyash Rai, Director-Producer, stated, "When I came to Mumbai 17 years ago, I was just a 20-year-old with hundreds of dreams and absolutely no plans, but I always believed in listening to my heart. Becoming a director was never planned, but storytelling became my passion because I wanted to tell stories my way - through emotions, visuals, and music, which has always been such a huge part of who I am. That's how Seven and a Half Dates, a musical by Shaalien and me, came to life. Working with your best friend on something you both truly believe in only makes the journey more beautiful, and I genuinely feel this is a story people will relate to. Full credit to Shaalien for writing something so real, and to Karan and Surbhi for bringing it alive with so much honesty.
