SHABANA AZMI FELL ILL DURING PROTEST IN DELHI

In the clip, a few people are seen holding Azmi by her hands while helping her walk. Students present at the spot can also be heard asking security personnel to open the gate quickly, repeatedly telling them that it was Shabana Azmi who needed help. After a brief exchange, the gate was opened and the actress was taken near the security cabin, where she was allowed to sit and rest.

Shabana Azmi had reached Jantar Mantar on Sunday to extend her support to the ongoing CJP protest. During her visit, she met Abhijeet Dipke and others who have been observing a hunger strike. Videos and photos from her interaction with the protesters had already gained attention online before Monday's incident.

The actress has been actively participating in the protest and has spoken publicly about why she decided to be there. Speaking to PTI on Monday, Azmi said the gathering was completely peaceful and was meant to exercise the democratic rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

She also said that Mahatma Gandhi had shown the country the path of peaceful protest and made it clear that those present had no intention of creating violence or disturbing public order.

SHABANA AZMI RESPONDS TO BOLLYWOOD QUESTIONS

During her interaction with the media, Shabana Azmi was also asked whether more Bollywood celebrities would join the protest. Instead of naming anyone, the actress questioned why such a query was directed only at film personalities.

She responded by asking why similar questions were not asked to industrialists or business leaders. According to Azmi, focusing on who from Bollywood would attend only shifts attention away from the real issue being raised at the protest.

Her response has since been widely shared on social media, with many users discussing her remarks alongside the viral video of her health scare.

Shabana Azmi is not the only celebrity associated with the CJP protest. Actors Swara Bhaskar, Prakash Raj and Poonam Panday have also visited Jantar Mantar to express their support.
