Shanaya Kapoor Reveals Her Audition Journey For Tu Yaa Main At Its Trailer Launch

After flooring the audience with her emotive prowess in her debut Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, the teaser of Tu Yaa Main sparked a huge curiosity about her versatility. Capturing her range as an actor, the trailer of the survival thriller drops a hint that Shanaya's career trajectory is shaping up to be far from predictable.

Shanaya Kapoor Reveals Her Audition Journey For Tu Yaa Main

Shanaya steps into Tu Yaa Main as Ms. Vanity, a top-tier influencer who understands visibility, optics, and audience engagement instinctively. She's composed, camera-aware and fluent in the language of likes, collaborations, and curated narratives. It's a role that is encased in today's creator economy, where identity is shaped as much by metrics.

Set against her is Adarsh Gourav's character, a creator from Nalasopara, someone whose content emerges from lived experience rather than polish. Their "collab" is influencer culture in microcosm - two creators chasing content, chemistry, and clout, until the narrative pulls the unexpected move: a menacing crocodile that turns a trip into a fight for existence. The trailer captures her shifting gears from curated confidence to something more primal and stripped. There's a visible crack in Ms Vanity's digital armour, and Shanaya leans into it ingeniously.

At the trailer launch, Shanaya got candid about the journey of the film. She said, "It started off with Mukesh (Chhabra) sir. He sent me just two scenes because there was no script. And I read the scenes, and I was like I have to come and audition for this, please help me out and record this for me. He said this is for Anand sir, that's all I knew. (I thought to myself) You have to kill it now; I have to give my best. We recorded the two scenes and sent it to Anand sir. After I met Anand sir, he had this belief in me, and he saw this potential in me, which I'm forever grateful for. And he stood by me through everything, so I'm here because of that."

She added, "When I read the script, I thought this film has everything - there is love, there is horror, there is thriller, there is dance, there is comedy... What is missing?! What a mix genre of love, thriller, and horror! That's crazy. We've seen the horror comedies, we've seen the romcoms. I don't think anyone's seen a romance in a survival thriller. So there was no way I was not going to do this."

Releasing on February 13, Tu Yaa Main is all set to bring a menacing twist to Valentine's Day.
