Suraj Singh On ‘Rahu Ketu’: “Fantasy Works When It Feels Emotionally Real, Even If The World Isn’t"
Producer Suraj Singh of Blive continues to shape a distinctive space in Indian cinema by backing stories that challenge convention while remaining emotionally engaging. His upcoming film Rahu Ketu stands as a clear reflection of this vision - a high-concept fantasy drama that blends imaginative scale with relatable human emotions. Rather than relying on familiar mythological formulas, Singh is focused on building a cinematic world that feels fresh, immersive and story-driven. With Rahu Ketu, he aims to offer audiences spectacle that serves the narrative, not the other way around, positioning the film as both entertaining and emotionally rooted.

Explaining his creative philosophy, Singh says that for him, high-concept cinema is not about complexity for its own sake. "Fantasy works when it feels emotionally real, even if the world isn't," he explains. According to him, audiences may enter a theatre for visual spectacle, but they stay connected because of emotion. He believes that high-concept storytelling should make viewers feel something familiar - fear, love, hope or conflict - even when the setting is fantastical. This balance, he feels, is what creates recall value, allowing films to resonate beyond their opening weekend.
Rahu Ketu, produced by Blive, releases on 16th January.
