VVAN – Force of the Forest is a forthcoming Indian folk thriller from Balaji Telefilms and TVF, directed by Deepak Mishra with Arunabh Kumar. The project blends cultural folklore with modern filmmaking, featuring a visually elaborate folklore dance sequence and a collaboration between established digital and cinema content creators.

VVAN – Force of the Forest! is gearing up as a big-screen folk thriller, led by Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia. The film brings together Balaji Telefilms and The Viral Fever in a rare large-scale collaboration, and is scheduled to release in theatres in 2026, drawing strong attention from film audiences.

The project explores cultural folklore in depth, a genre that rarely receives mainstream treatment in Indian cinema. Early material from the film has already stirred curiosity among viewers, who are keen to see how VVAN blends folk storytelling with thriller elements, visual scale and contemporary filmmaking techniques within a theatrical format.

Vvan folk thriller collaboration and creative team

Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, is presenting the film with TVF, an 11.11 Production, under the title VVAN – Force of the Forest! Arunabh Kumar has written the film, while direction is handled by Deepak Mishra and Arunabh Kumar. DOP and Visual Director Manu Anand leads the visuals, and production credits go to Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari.

According to a source linked to the film, the lead cast is expected to shoot a visually elaborate folklore dance sequence in the city. The plan aligns with the film’s focus on folk traditions, as the dedicated sequence is expected to highlight the bond between the central characters while mirroring the narrative’s forest-driven, cultural and thematic core on screen.

From its announcement, Vvan has drawn interest because it unites Arunabh Kumar's TVF with Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms on a feature film for the first time. The alliance is viewed within the industry as a major content partnership, combining established digital and television experience for cinema, and further strengthening intrigue around the story world VVAN intends to present.
