Sairaah

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat Assistant Editor Abhishek Ranjit, Sairaah got candid about her 'The Half Million Tour', where she will be performing in 14 cities. The cherry on the cake is her performance in Australia.

Here are excerpts from the interview-

Your India tour begins on 5th June in Delhi and will take you across multiple cities in India before heading to Australia. What excites you the most about this journey and performing live for audiences across different places?

What excites me the most is meeting people who have connected with my music from different corners of the world. Every city has its own energy and personality, but music has this incredible ability to bring everyone together. As an artist, I've built a lot of my journey through live performances, so being able to travel across India and then take the tour to Australia feels very special. It's not just about performing songs, it's about sharing moments with people who have been a part of the journey.

Which song do you enjoy performing the most on stage, and why?

I don't think that I can ever choose one song. But singing Voh Lamhey, Aadat, Mayya Mayya, Nadaan Parindey and Jugni will forever remain my favourites. And because I love these songs personally, i know that the audience feels more connected. These are those songs where I stop singing for a moment and hear the audience sing back. And that is such an overwhelming feeling.

How would you describe yourself as an artist in three words?

Passionate, Versatile and Connected.

What has been the biggest turning point in your music journey so far?

I think when I went to Mumbai, things started to change for good. Of course, there wasn't one overnight moment where everything changed. It was a series of small decisions, continuing to perform, creating content consistently, and believing in the process even when the results weren't immediate. I built confidence and the ability to feel connected with people. Looking back, staying consistent and believing in your art even through the uncertain phases feels good.

Do you have any pre-show ritual or routine before stepping on stage?

I usually spend a few quiet minutes with my band before we go on stage. I do a quick vocal warm-up, check in with each other, and take a moment to remind ourselves to enjoy the performance. No matter how many shows I do, there's always a little nervous excitement before stepping on stage, and I've learned to appreciate that feeling.

What can your fans look forward to next new music, collaborations, or any special projects?

So we've just released our new song 'Teri Meri' which is streaming on all major platforms and I'm excited for people to go and listen. We're coming up with more live shows, and some exciting collaborations that I can't reveal just yet. I'm looking forward to creating more experiences that bring people together through music.
