Tusshar Kapoor Says Sharman Joshi Played A Key Role In Making his Golmaal Lucky in Golmaal A Fan Favourite
As the excitement around Golmaal 5 continues to grow, actor Tusshar Kapoor recently opened up about how Sharman Joshi played a major role in making his beloved character Lucky one of the most iconic parts of the Golmaal franchise.

Tusshar revealed that Lucky was initially not designed the way audiences eventually came to love him. Sharing an interesting behind-the-scenes anecdote, he explained how the character evolved after Sharman Joshi suggested a completely different approach to Lucky's communication style.
"This character was originally not there and he was added later on before I was signed. He was envisioned by writer Neeraj Vora as a silent character. When they signed me, Sharman Joshi suggested that I should train with a theatre actor, Vikas Kadam. He's the one who suggested that he should not be a quiet character communicating through sign language," Tusshar shared.
He further added, "He said, 'Since he can hear, let's give him sounds that he is trying to vocalize, even though he is unable to articulate words. He can't speak, but he can still make sounds'. So, he suggested adding a brattish quality to the character and making him a bit of a badass!"
What started as a small creative suggestion eventually became one of the defining traits of Lucky's character and a memorable element of the Golmaal universe. Fans over the years have continued to adore Lucky's unique speech pattern and comic timing, making him one of the franchise's most loved characters.
Adding to the nostalgia, Sharman Joshi has officially returned to the Golmaal franchise and will be reprising his iconic role of Laxman once again in Golmaal 5. Ever since the announcement was made, fans have flooded social media with excitement, calling him the "OG Laxman" and expressing their eagerness to watch the original madness and chemistry return to the big screen.
The filming process for Golmaal 5 has been in full swing, with director Rohit Shetty reportedly planning one of the biggest and most ambitious installments of the franchise yet. Featuring a massive ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Sharman Joshi and many more, the film promises a perfect mix of nostalgia, chaos, comedy, and entertainment.
