Vijay Sethupathi Praises Atlee’s Filmmaking; Reveals Why He Said Yes To Jawan

Actor Vijay Sethupathi recently spoke about working with filmmaker Atlee in the blockbuster Jawan, sharing what impressed him most about the director's style of storytelling. The 2023 action entertainer, headlined by Shah Rukh Khan, went on to create a massive box office storm and became one of the biggest hits of the year. Sethupathi played the formidable antagonist Kalee Gaikwad in the film, alongside Nayanthara and Deepika Padukone.

In a recent conversation with, Sethupathi opened up about Atlee's approach to filmmaking and why he enjoys collaborating with the director.

"I like the way Atlee makes his films," the actor said. "He knows where the scene or shot should rise and how to make it engaging. And he's very confident about his scenes. So I like the way he works."

Sethupathi also revealed that the opportunity to share screen space with Shah Rukh Khan was another key reason behind taking up the role. "And then, obviously, it was about Shah Rukh sir. That's all. Just for them only, I did that film," he added.
