Vikrant Massey On His Spiritual Journey With Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar For White: It Impacted Me Personally

Vikrant Massey prepares for the White biopic by closely studying Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, including spiritual immersion and extensive prosthetics to achieve an authentic portrayal. The actor’s routine features long makeup sessions and demanding shooting days, with early feedback anticipated from the subject himself.

National Award winner Vikrant Massey is deep into preparations for White, where Vikrant portrays Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Fresh from acclaim for 12th Fail, Vikrant described long prosthetic sessions, intense shooting days and quiet time at the ashram, saying the role has reshaped both craft and inner life while work on the film continues. Speaking about the first audience for the biopic, Vikrant said Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will see White before anyone else. The actor remains anxious yet calm about that reaction, explaining that months of work went into understanding Gurudev’s presence, daily routines and spiritual teachings, beyond simply matching appearance or voice on camera.

Vikrant shared that he spent time with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for portraying him in White and labelled those moments as "special". He also revealed what impact Sri Sri Ravi Shankar had on his life while they filmed for White. "I got closer to myself while spending time at his ashram and with him. Mahaveer Jain ji the producer of White took me to meet him. I got the chance to get close to him and meet him through this project and I'm so glad. unki wajah se main apni zindagi mein thoda thehrav la paaya hoon and that has had an impact on me personally… And it was very challenging to play him because he is a very unique personality. He is actually someone who has no blueprint. He is only one in himself. So, a lot of preparation has to be done.

Those ashram visits, according to Vikrant, helped shift attention inward while cameras rolled. The actor linked that sense of calm directly to Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s influence, describing how personal growth and performance preparation overlapped. For Vikrant, exploring meditation and silence became as crucial as learning posture, speech patterns and public mannerisms.

Vikrant Massey White look, prosthetics and long shoots

When asked about Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's reaction to Vikrant essaying him in White, he shared, "The first person to watch the movie will be him. I'm nervous thinking what he will say about the film. I have shown him some clippings and he said nothing... So it's all good. There's a lot of prosthetics involved in getting the look right. I had to spend over 5-5.30 hours for the makeup and hair and we shot for over 10 hours on top of that. I pray the hard work pays off."

Vikrant outlined the daily physical routine behind that transformation, balancing demanding prosthetic sessions with extended shooting hours. The team focused on details like hair texture, facial structure and age, hoping audiences would recognise Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar instantly. The silence from Gurudev after viewing early clips, Vikrant suggested, was taken as quiet approval.
