Vishal Bhardwaj Under Fire After Alleged ‘Like’ on Controversial Post About Dhurandhar 2 Fans Sparks Outrage
The article covers claims that Vishal Bhardwaj liked a reel comparing Dhurandhar viewers to Nazis. The post is not independently verified, but it sparked wide online debate across X and Instagram while distributing unconfirmed screenshots and commentary.
Social media users are arguing over claims that filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj liked an online reel that mocked people who watched the film Dhurandhar by comparing them with Nazi Germany. While the screenshot spread fast across platforms, the original reel and like activity have not been independently confirmed so far.

The picture doing the rounds shows the Haider and O Romeo director’s account tapping like on a reel titled "Why didn't you watch Dhurandhar?". Many users treated the alleged like as proof of contempt for Dhurandhar 2 viewers, and the reactions soon turned personal and political on X and Instagram.
Vishal Bhardwaj Dhurandhar controversy and viral reel details
A user named @Alreadysad__ posted a screenshot on X that showed Vishal Bhardwaj’s handle liking a reel featuring the well-known photograph of August Landmesser, the worker who refused to perform the Nazi salute to Adolf Hitler. The reel carried the caption, "Why didn't you watch Dhurandhar?," implying viewers were like those supporting Nazis.
Vishal Bhardwaj Dhurandhar controversy and sharp online reactions
The same X user uploaded the picture without crediting the reel’s original creator and wrote: "Haider director Vishal Bhardwaj is liking a post which compares Dhurandhar viewers with germany Nazis. Zakir Khan was right 'Dhurandhar se sabki jali to hai'." Some others repeated comedian Zakir Khan’s earlier claim that filmmakers felt jealous of Dhurandhar’s box office run.
Comments under the viral post quickly turned hostile. One angry user wrote, "Not surprising Vishal bharadwaj likes to work with terrorists instead." Another posted, "@VishalBhardwaj then your movie viewers are literally ISIS terrorists." A different account added, "Look at the audacity of Vishal Bhardwaj, he is comparing Dhurandhar viewers with Nazis. Bro your movie viewers are literally ISI Sympathizers."
Some users, however, reacted with sarcasm and Bollywood gossip. One joked, "Jalan ho raha hai, bechare ko," and another echoed, "Jalan ho raha he bechare ko. Jalne do." These remarks drew a link with Zakir Khan’s punchline "Dhurandhar se sabki jali to hai," suggesting industry envy of the film’s performance.
The controversy revived memories of Saqib Bilal Sheikh, who appeared briefly in Vishal Bhardwaj’s film Haider and was later killed in an encounter with security forces in Srinagar after allegedly joining terrorists. Because of that past role, some netizens again described Haider viewers as "ISIS sympathisers".
Despite these strong claims, Filmibeat could not trace the original reel or conclusively verify whether Vishal Bhardwaj actually liked the post targeting Dhurandhar audiences.
