Welcome To The Jungle Budget & Box Office Target Exclusive: Akshay Kumar returns to the comedy genre with Welcome To The Jungle, which released in theatres today (June 26). Marking the third instalment in the popular Welcome franchise, the film aims to entertain audiences with a fresh storyline instead of simply recreating the magic of its predecessors.

Directed by Ahmed Khan, Welcome To The Jungle is a large-scale comedy featuring an ensemble cast, over-the-top humour, action-packed sequences, and plenty of nostalgic references. Welcome To The Jungle begins with Jenny (Jacqueline Fernandez), whose father, a politician, lands in serious trouble over tax-related allegations. Desperate to protect his wealth and avoid legal action, he starts looking for a way out. That's when Dubey (Johny Lever) comes up with an outrageous plan that sets the story in motion.

Instead of solving the problem through conventional means, Dubey suggests making a film that is guaranteed to fail at the box office. The financial losses from the flop can then be shown officially, helping Jenny's father explain his money on paper. What begins as a bizarre idea soon turns into a chaotic adventure involving filmmakers, actors, technicians, and even gangsters.

To execute the plan, Dev (Paresh Rawal) and Das (Rajpal Yadav) take charge as the film's directors, while Nainsukh (Shreyas Talpade) joins them as the cameraman. Akshay Kumar plays an actor whose career is filled with unsuccessful films, making him the ideal choice for a project that is meant to be a disaster.

Disha Patani stars as Nadia, the film's leading lady and Akshay Kumar's love interest. The comedy is further powered by a strong supporting cast, with Suniel Shetty appearing as Yeda Anna, Uday Bhai's brother, and Arshad Warsi portraying Romeo, Manju Bhai's brother. Talking about its budget, the trade analyst exclusively told us, "The budget of Welcome 3 is around Rs 225 crore, including P&A."

Talking about the box-office target for Welcome, Rohit added, "The film needs to collect anything above Rs 200 crore at the ticket window to get a clean hit tag. If it earns below Rs 80 crore, it would be considered a disaster. I'll be considered a flop even if it collects around Rs 110-120 crore. For the clear hit verdict, it needs more than Rs 200 crore."
