Arre Reality Show Walon..: Divya Agarwal Reveals The REAL Reason Behind Her Not Being Cast For OTT Roles

Diya Agarwal: Reality TV personality and actress Divya Agarwal, who entered the entertainment industry with reality shows, has really made a name for herself among the most sought after celebs. She is also known for her outspoken nature, both professionally and personally. She recently came under the spotlight after she made an open request to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap on social media, expressing her desire to do good work and break out of typecasting.

The actress recently opened up about her desires to do serious work and revealed how reality show celebs are looked down upon. In a candid conversation with ETimes TV, she spoke about her wish to be a part of some good shows that will speak for themselves.

Mentioning that she had enjoyed doing reality shows and modelling, Divya feels that those have not put her at the forefront of the acting profession. Adding that she has been getting offers for the same type of shows for years, which doesn't excite her anymore. She said, "I feel I am back to square one. Professionally, I want to do a good show and then spend time with my family. I don't want to be just doing reality shows to prove my bravery. Yes, I might have fought with one of the biggest directors of Bollywood in BB OTT, but that was a show."

Further, talking about her interest in doing remarkable digital shows, Divya explained how she was turned down by OTT platforms. "I had gotten in touch with a few casting directors to see how it works, I was told, 'Arre reality show walon ko nahi lete hai'. That made me question myself, 'Am I too overexposed for any role?' I am just stuck with reality shows, I don't think it's a profession," she said.

The actress then went on to say that she is looking out for some really good work that would speak for itself and show her strength as a performer.

For the unversed, Divya Agarwal rose to fame after participating in MTV Splitsvilla 10 and Ace of Space 1, where she emerged a winner. She has also been a part of Bigg Boss OTT. Divya made her acting debut with the horror web series Ragini MMS: Returns 2.
