Dunki OTT Release Date & Platform: After delivering stellar performances and taking the box office by storm with Jawan and Pathaan, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is back again with his third film of the year, Dunki.

Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, the comedy drama film was released worldwide on Thursday, December 21, and marks the first ever collaboration between him and SRK. Also starring Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Dia Mirza, and Satish Shah in supporting roles, Dunki opened to mixed responses from the audience and critics alike.

While the film is expected to open at huge numbers, and after giving back-to-back hits, King Khan is all set to close the year with another blockbuster. We already have the details about the film's OTT release and platform.

According to a report by OTT Play, Dunki's digital rights has already been purchased and is expected to air on JioCinema after a successful theatrical run.

Meanwhile, BollywoodLife stated that SRK's film streaming rights have been bought for Rs. 155 crore. Note, the report has not been officially confirmed by the makers.

Plot

Dunki is about friendship. Its story focuses on how Indians aspire to have a career in foreign lands like the US and Canada and enter these nations illegally through a backdoor called "Donkey Flight.".

The film follows the journey of five friends with their dreams of travelling abroad and the challenges they face while they venture to fulfil their dream. The film has been co-written by Hirani, Abhijat Joshi, and Kanika Dhillon.

Taapsee Pannu on working with SRK

Dunki is Tappsee Pannu's first film with SRK. Talking about the same, she told Indian Express, "I have to pinch myself every day to believe that this is happening. I have grown up watching his (Shah Rukh's) films. For me, Shah Rukh Khan is the introduction to Hindi films. So just standing next to him in a frame is surreal. I just hope I don't mess it up."
