New Delhi: Actress Pooja Dey, who is a popular name in the entertainment industry, is all set to astound viewers with her impeccable acting prowess in her upcoming short film 'Oas.' The tinsel town diva, in an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, spilled the beans on her project and shared details about her character.

Talking about the character she is playing, Pooja told us, "I am playing the role of Amrita, a Lesbian, in the film. She is in love with a girl and the story is based on them. Amrita is more towards her feminine energy."

Revealing what made her do this short film, Pooja quipped, "What prompted me to sign this project was to spread awareness. In metropolitan cities like Mumbai, loving whosoever you want isn't a big deal, but in small cities it is. So, the main agenda of this project was to focus on the areas which still consider this as taboo."

She added, "There are still a lot of people's misconceptions about this, so by doing this project I wanted to give confidence to people to come out as who they want to be. Everyone needs to understand that being a gay, lesbian, homosexual or anything isn't a disease."

Lastly, sharing her excitement about her upcoming short film, Pooja further said, "I am eagerly looking forward to the release of this film and seeing the reaction of the audience. I hope that this film reaches out to most people and gives them hope and freedom to be who they are."

On the professional front, Pooja Dey made her acting debut with MTV Dating in the Dark. Post that, she played the lead role in the popular web series Gandii Baat. She was also seen in Vikram Bhatt's project 'Sanak'.
