OTT platforms have turned out to be a boon for several artists, filmmakers, writers and directors, who wish to showcase their talent. While a good film is often judged by its box office numbers and not its content, things are different on OTT. Content matters the most and no matter how good the marketing gimmick is, if the film or web series fail to strike a chord with the audience in the digital world, it won't find any takers.

Filmibeat caught up with Kashika Kapoor, who made her digital debut with The Viber Hunters. From sharing her thoughts on the OTT vs theatre debate to spilling the beans on debut film Ayushmati Geeta Metric Pass, the actress barred it all in a fun-filled conversation.

Here are excerpts from the interview.

Q- What's your take on OTT vs Theatre?

A- I strongly believe that the silver screen will always remain the ',silver screen'. One cannot and should not really compare a theatrical release to an OTT release. This is quite a debatable topic as both OTT projects and theatrical releases have their own charm and beauty. Both the platforms are here to stay.

Q- Now that you have worked in a web series as well as your debut movie, what would you prefer to do: movies or OTT?

A- As an actor, there is no comparison of the specific things that I would like to do, but I would personally prefer both. As I said, both of them have an aura of their own that honestly cannot be compared.

Q- Your debut film, Ayushmati Geeta Matric Pass, just announced its wrap-up. Tell us about your shooting experience?

A- Yes, I am making my debut with Ayushmati Geeta Matric Pass, and we have just wrapped up the shoot of the film. And I am very happy that I am making it one of those films that will give you all a very strong message. I as an actor, personally feel that it is necessary to determine what message the audience takes away because, at the end of the day, it is your work and your performance that make you recognized in the minds of the audience, and I feel that if a minimal change could occur in the minds of my viewers through my film, then I would feel that I am an actor and I have done something for the welfare of the society.

Talking about the film, we made AGMP with all the love of every member that was present on the sets. We are now a big family, and we indeed had great fun on the sets, but I am thrilled that through this film we are all set to bring about a change in society. A film becomes a film when it brings a change, and Ayushmati Geeta Matric Pass is all set to be that one.

Q- You and Alia Bhatt both started your careers pretty young. What do you think about fans comparing you with Alia Bhatt? Do you take it as a compliment, or does it bother you?

A- It's really amazing when you get compared with such a phenomenal actress as Alia Bhatt, and I feel very grateful. I have taken inspiration from her and will start my acting career soon. She is a very kindhearted and really amazing person, and I have been personally taught that being nice and working hard will help you arouse your name, and she has proved that, so I really respect and adore her and try to grab that quality from her always.

Q- You have received love from all corners. What do you have to say to your fans?

A- Honestly, I really receive a lot of messages where all of them ask me and express their desire to get into Bollywood and how they should get into the industry, but I would just like to tell them that paving your way in the industry is neither too difficult nor too easy. But if you wish to be an actor, then I would just suggest working hard, on yourself, doing theatres, learning in dept about cinema and just doing what your heart says.

I feel that in whatever profession you are, you can earn money but if you are internally not satisfied with what you are doing, you need to listen to your heart. I believe that you will definitely feel successful and that's what I have done and I am really grateful to all my fans for always showering their love on me and keeping their trust on me.
