KWK8: Sara Ali Khan Opens Up On Equation With Kartik Aaryan Post Breakup; Says, ‘I Get Involved & Invested…’

During the latest episode, Sara and Ananya also opened up about their relationship with their common ex-boyfriend, Kartik Aaryan. The two actors, who have become close friends, delved into the complexities of post-breakup friendships and the ever-changing dynamics of the entertainment industry.

Host Karan Johar didn't shy away from addressing the elephant in the room, as he asked Sara and Ananya about their equation with Kartik Aaryan, considering they had both dated him in the past.

SARA SAYS FRIENDSHIPS AFTER BREAKUP ISN'T ALWAYS EASY

Sara who was the first to answer the question, reflecting on dating and breakups in general, and said, "I don't want to say that it's all easy because then it comes across as a little more frivolous than it is. It isn't always easy. When you are involved with anybody, whether it's friends, professionally, romantically, especially if I am, I get involved and invested. It is not like, 'Oh yeah, it doesn't really matter, whatever it is today, whatever it is tomorrow.' It's not like that. It does affect you. But ultimately, you have to rise beyond that."

The actress also said that making statements about forever friendships or never speaking to someone again in the industry isn't always wise. She added, "Something I have realized without sounding semi-negative is that there are no permanent predicaments in this business. In my personal experience, there is no point in making permanent best friendships, pinky promises, saying I'll never talk to you again. All these 'nevers' and 'always' don't happen."

Meanwhile, Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan briefly dated eachother after Sara confessed her admiration for him on a previous season of Koffee With Karan. They were said to be romantically involved during the filming of the Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal 2.
