Lock Upp 2 EXCLUSIVE! From Kangana Ranaut Returning As Host To Contestants, What We Know

When Ekta Kapoor launched Lock Upp, little did the industry know that it would emerge as the most successful reality show on digital platforms. While makers have experimented with fiction concepts, the TV Czarina introduced an intriguing OTT reality show for the first time. The show, which was hosted by Kangana Ranaut, grabbed several eyeballs. The contestants, who featured in Lock Upp, continued to remain in headlines throughout their stint in the show.

While Munawar Faruqui lifted the winner's trophy, Payal Rohatgi emerged as the first runner-up of Lock Upp. After the success of the first season, the makers are now all set to bring back the second season with a bang. Yes, you read that right!

A source close to the show exclusively told Filmibeat, "The makers are gearing up to launch Lock Upp 2 next month, if things go as planned. Considering the popularity of the first season, the casting team wants to ensure that they select the best possible contestants. One can see an interesting mix of known and semi-known celebs in Lock Upp 2. Expect the unexpected as the makers are also in talks with popular social media sensations. Last year, we had Anjali Arora and this season, we are keen to approach a similar personality."

There's a strong buzz that Soundarya Sharma and Archana Gautam have been approached for Lock Upp 2. When asked about the same, the source said, "Well, you will have to wait and watch to know if the two Bigg Boss 16 contestants are part of the show or not. We want to select celebrities, who have potential to strike a chord with the audience and hence, we are working round the clock to provide the high dose of entertainment."

Lock Upp premiered in February 2022 on ALT Balaji and MX Player. The new season is expected to be launched on OTT in mid-March. "Kangana Ranaut, who successfully hosted the first season, will continue to be a part of Lock Upp 2. Her bindas nature and attitude is what makes her a perfect host for a show like Lock Upp," the source added.
