The Aam Aadmi Family 4: 'Aare yaar, yeh cheez to meri mummy bhi karti'- There are very few series that are relatable, have their charm, make you laugh and form a connection with you. The Aam Aadmi Family is one of them.

The simple comedy-drama that showcases the story of a middle-class Sharma family has managed to strike a chord with the audience. What started as a YouTuber series has now emerged as one of the most loved comedy shows on OTT. When ZEE5 launched the trailer of season four, it was evident that we had another winner from the leading streaming platform. And the makers didn't disappoint.

Once again, the series wooed the audience, providing wholesome entertainment while retaining the original flavour and showcasing the real-life challenges of a middle-class family. Our favourite Lubna Salim aka Mrs. Sharma, in an exclusive tête-à-tête with Filmibeat, spoke about her enriching experience of shoot, working with Brijendra Kala and a lot more.

ON WORKING WITH BRIJENDRA KALA

Lubna Salim and Brijendra Kala have set the screens on fire with their natural chemistry and power-packed performances. Their scenes are a treat to watch. Can you take your eyes off them when they are performing a scene? Ofcourse not.

Lubna believes playing Madhu Sharma changed her perception as an artist. "It not only challenged me as an actor but also changed me as an actor. It changed the way I looked at characters and portrayed them. Bringing Mrs Sharma to that level was a refreshing experience for me. Kudos to the director and team, who are so young and talented, for making a series like this."

Our favourite Leela from Baa Bahu Aur Baby beamed with joy as she spoke about working with Brijendra Kala. "He's a great co-star. I learned so much while working with him in The Aam Aadmi Family. You see we both belong to different schools of acting. As I told you, I had to unlearn so much while playing the role of Madhu Sharma and working with Bijendra ji in the series. I used to watch him on the set, the way his expressions changed. He's a gem of a person. We both have done theatre, which was the common ground for us. We used to improvise a lot of things, and rehearse the scenes together."

The cast has bonded like a family and the artists have their own WhatsApp group where they chat often. With the whole family, we developed a beautiful relationship. We have our own WhatsApp group to know about each other's personal and professional life," she told us.

ON TAKING HER OWN SWEET TIME IN SAYING YES

Did you know Lubna had earlier refused the offer but the director was keen to only have her on board? Apoorva Singh had made up his mind that he would only cast the thespian for the role.

"The team was based in Delhi and I was there in Mumbai. OTT was just so new at that time. I had my concerns but you know- 'Aksar jab maine phele mana kiya hai kisi kaam ko, aur baad mein use kiya hai, vo acha hi hua hai'. Whether it is The Aam Aadmi Family or OMG, I have earned love for projects which I earlier say no to. When I read the first episode of Aam Aadmi, I was like 'itna simple kaise ho sakta hai?' I could relate to the show," she quipped.
