Jail
mate
in
the
film.
Directed
by
Shahnawaz
Ali,
'UT
69'
draws
inspiration
from
the
real-life
experiences
of
Raj
Kundra
during
his
time
in
Arthur
Road
Jail,
and
is
dark
humour-satirical-political-thriller-commentary.
Raj
Kundra
himself
will
be
in
the
lead
role
in
this
movie.
On
talking
about
his
character,
Kumar
Saurabh
said,
"I'm
playing
the
character
of
Ashraf,
who
is
imprisoned
for
robbery.
He
becomes
Raj
Kundra's
jail
mate
in
the
film.
We
did
a
workshop
at
Raj
bhai's
place
and
discussed
the
character
and
its
nuances
with
the
director.
That's
how
we
worked
on
this
character."
He
adds,
"Casting
director
Gaurav
Mishra
called
me
to
audition
for
the
role
of
Ashraf.
After
a
successful
audition
and
a
meeting
with
the
director,
I
was
loecked
for
the
role."
Describing
his
working
experience
with
Raj
Kundra,
he
mentioned,
"He's
such
a
lovely
and
warm
person.
We
really
enjoyed
working
with
him
on
set.
He's
such
a
gem
at
heart.
He
used
to
give
me
his
special
energy
drink.
He
was
so
humble
and
supportive
towards
his
co-actors.
During
one
of
the
scenes
of
sleeping,
which
was
post-lunch,
I
actually
fell
asleep.
Then
Raj
bhai
put
his
hand
on
me
and
sat
beside
me,
when
I
saw
it
was
him,
he
said,
"Method
acting
kar
raha
hai
na
tu?"
(Laughs)
Talking
about
the
film's
USP,
he
stated,
"I
believe
that
audiences
will
appreciate
this
film
because
they
are
curious
about
what
actually
happened
during
his
time
in
prison
and
how
he
experienced
it.
The
film
is
a
comical
take
inspired
by
a
few
real-life
instances
from
his
life."
Apart
from
this,
in
the
upcoming
he
will
be
seen
in
CA
Topper
Tribhuvan
Mishra
(Netflix),
Sarpanch
sahab
and
Vakalatnama
(Netflix).
