Headlined by Akshay Kumar, the rescue thriller was reported to have earned Rs 46 crore at the box office worldwide. The film was made on a budget of Rs 55 crore.

The film is based on the life of Jaswant Singh Gill, an IIT Dhanbad mining engineer who saved 65 stranded coal miners lives stuck in the Raniganj Coalfields in 1989.
