Pippa's Leysan Karimova On AR Rahman Composing Main Parwana, 'The Song Has Legendary People Behind It...'

Actress Leysan Karimova is currently grabbing the headlines for her magnificent acting prowess in the newly released Amazon prime film- Pippa, directed by Raja Krishna Menon. Apart from Leysan, the film stars Mrunal Thakur, Ishaan Khatter and many more.

The actress played the role of Zena, a Russian translator. Leysan was also the lead actress in Pippa's movie song 'Main Parwaana', which has been composed by A.R Rahman. In the music video, Leysan can be seen grooving to the melodious track with Ishaan Khatter and the music video has been receiving a great response from the audience.

Recently, we got in touch with the actress and asked a few questions to her regarding the song.

How did you get to know about being the lead in the song 'Main Parwaana'?

To be honest, it was on the last day on set, when I got to know that the song I was the lead in, was composed by the legendary musician A.R Rahman Sir and sung by Arijit Singh. Casually, a person on set asked me about A.R Rahman Sir and then said to me that 'you must be proud na' and I asked him 'proud about what' and that's when he told me 'about the song composed by A.R Rahman Sir'. That's when I got to know that the song has legendary people behind it.

What was your reaction when you got to know about being the lead in the song?

I was quite shaken at that moment and it took me time to absorb exactly what he said. While I was suprised and happy, I was scared too, that I performed on a song composed by the legendary musician.

How do you feel about being the lead in a song composed by the legendary A.R Rahman?

You know, every actor dreams of being a part of A.R Rahman Sir's song and it was truly an honour and pleasure for me to get a chance to perform as the lead in a song composed by him.

Share the experience of shooting for the song?

Well, I had a great experience while filming for this song with Ishaan. Obviously, it required a huge amount of hard work and dedication, but the result that came out was so overwhelming.
