Vaarun Bhagat Says Lack Of OTT Censorship Has...
The Undekhi 2 actor maintained that OTT has allowed many talents to prosper as filmmakers have been able to share their stories through the medium. He added that the lack of censorship has allowed the creative people to be 'fearless and creative'.
"I believe that the whole industry witnessed a major change in 2018, 2019 as it gave a platform to different kind of actors, filmmakers, writers and directors. It not only gave a platform to work but allowed creative people to showcase their fresh set of stories. It is an important space as we get an opportunity to tell our stories," Vaarun told Filmibeat in an exclusive conversation.
"Lack of censorship has actually allowed makers to be more fearless and creative in OTT. While censorship is a good thing, the lack of it in the web space has allowed the makers to present their ideas in a fearless manner," he added.
Vaarun Bhagat Is Binge-watching THIS Series
When we asked him to share the web show that he is currently binge-watching, he quipped. "I just finished watching Rocket Boys 2 and loved every bit of it. I think it was phenomenal. A friend, who was in film school with me, has written the concept and story of the web series. I am so proud of him. People are also applauding the screenplay and performance of the artists. I also enjoyed viewing The Last of Us." Interesting choice, isn't it?
Vaarn Bhagat Upcoming Projects
The Aar Ya Paar star didn't divulge much details about his new projects but dropped hints that he is working in a big-ticket property on OTT. "I have done another show that will premiere on VOOT. I am not allowed to reveal the name of the show but I can assure the audience that they will have a blast watching it on OTT. I am looking forward to sharing the details about my project in the next few days."
