Koffee With Karan 8: In the premiere episode of Karan Johar's iconic chat show, Koffee With Karan 8, Bollywood power couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone opened up about their relationship, sparking controversy and online trolls due to Deepika's candid remarks about casual dating.

VIR DAS'S CRYPTIC NOTE ON CASUAL DATING

Now, actor and comedian Vir Das has now stepped into the fray to support Deepika. Taking to his social media account on Friday, Vir Das shared a cryptic note online dating. He wrote, "Moment of silence for all the men who are upset that a Bollywood star way out of their league was casually dating for a while, and wasn't as committed as their imaginary girlfriend is to them."

WHAT DEEPIKA PADUKONE SAID ON KOFFEE WITH KARAN 8 ABOUT CASUAL DATING

For the unversed, during the Koffee With Karan 8 episode, Deepika Padukone said, "I wanted to be single for a while because I had come from difficult relationships. I was going through a phase where I said 'I just don't want to be attached, don't want to be committed.' And I had fun! And then he comes along, so I didn't commit, until he proposed to me. There was no 'commitment as such. Even if we were technically allowed to see other people, we would just keep coming back to each other."

Ranveer Singh, her husband, responded to her revelation by stating that there were numerous suitors trying to approach her, to which Deepika inquired, "like who?" This led to a visibly annoyed Ranveer saying, "Abhi toh tumne bola I was seeing other people but I would go back to him. Tumko ab yaad nahi aa raha hai (Just a few minutes ago you said you were seeing other people and now you can't remember)?" Deepika responded with, "I can't remember the people," while Ranveer insisted, "I remember very clearly."

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Ranveer Singh will be next seen in Singham Again. He also has Don 3, in his pipeline. On the other hand, Deepika Padukone is set to appear in the film Fighter, alongside Anil Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan. The film is scheduled for release on January 25, 2024.
