Vivek Agnihotri On Being Abused By Prabhas Fans: Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri is all set for his next release, The Vaccine War, which is scheduled to hit theatres on September 28.

Known for not mincing his views, Vivek often faces criticism and backlash online for his films and politically motivated opinions on issues. He recently revealed that he was trolled and abused by Prabhas fans over its box office clash with Salaar.

Vivek Agnihotri claims Prabhas fans abused him over The Vaccine War clash with Salaar

Speaking to The New Indian Express, Vivek Agnihotri stated that every film should get a chance by audiences and should not be targeted before its release.

Referring to his film's big clash with Tollywood superstar Prabhas Salaar, the filmmaker said, "The Vaccine War is a small film with no stars, made at ₹12.5 crore budget. Another film, Salaar, was coming. A huge ₹300 crore film. Their fans were abusing, trolling me, isko bhagao, nahi aana chaiye... Bhaag koi aur gaya."

Vivek was indirectly hinting at Salaar's release being postponed. Earlier, The Vaccine War was supposed to face a clash at the box office with Prabhas' much-awaited Salaar.

However, the film has not been postponed and will likely release alongside Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki, which is directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

Agnihotri also talked about receiving abuse from Shah Rukh Khan's fans after Jawan's success.

But The Vaccine War will clash with Fukrey 3 this Thursday. Talking about the same, he said, "All these trade journalists wrote that there is a film coming with me named Fukrey. I have no competition with it."

"It's a comedy and a franchise. Both are different films, and both should work. It's a five-day weekend and I hope Fukrey is also a superhit and The Vaccine War should also be seen," he added.
