Director Atul Sabharwal opened up on casting Aparshakti Khurana, Ishwak Singh and other actors for his film. He quipped, "All the actors including Apashakti, Ishwak, Rahul Bose perfectly fit the bill for their characters. The artists worked hard to get into the skin of the character, making it easier for me to bring into life what I had picturized in my mind during the pre-production house. Ishwak and Aparshakti were the right choices for Ashok and Pushkin."

He is accused of being a spy. Things Take a turn when a sign language expert comes into the picture. He is brought to help the government in interpretation in the case.

Atul, who is known for his work in films like Aurangzeb" and Class of 83, spilled the beans on making a film based on his short story The Decipherer. Revealing the idea behind his inspiration, he stated, "I developed the idea while visiting a cafe. I first had an idea of a deaf-mute waiter."
