Onima was born on 24 february 1995, in Gurugram (Haryana). She finished her schooling from D.A.V public school and graduated in bachelor of business administration from the University of Delhi and a post graduation in fashion designing from pearl academy of fashion.

The actress has also worked with many legendary actors, like Amitabh Bachchan, Ayushman Khurana, Ranveer singh, Shahrukh khan, akshay kumar, rajkumar Rao, Anushka sharma , Hritik roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Vivek Oberio. Onima has also done several Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil ads as well.
She has done music videos with known singers like Salim merchant, babbu maan ( punjabi ), raj Barman too.

Apart from being a phenomenal actress, Onima is a professional painter too. Painting is her first love, and it was her fine arts teacher who recognised her talent. She sells her paintings under the brand name- ONIMA CREATIONS.
