Director E Niwas Opens Up On Challenges Of Shooting Tanaav 2 In Kashmir 

Renowned director E Niwas recently shared insights into the challenges and rewards of filming the web series Tanaav in Kashmir. The series, directed by Sudhir Mishra and E Niwas, is produced by Applause Entertainment and Applause Productions.

Kashmir's stunning landscapes play a crucial role in Tanaav 2. Niwas elaborates, "Shooting in Kashmir was both challenging and blissful. It is a tough terrain logistically, but visually it's a treat. That's how it is when it comes to shooting in real locations. And with Kashmir as I mentioned before, it was logistically quite hectic, but that was the ask and demand of the script. As we took that responsibility to depict the two contrasting worlds of Kashmir, that is the beautiful landscape and the underbelly of Kashmir. We had to commit to it 100% and by seeing the end result and the initial audience response, I think it was definitely worth it."

Challenges of Filming in Kashmir

Niwas highlighted that filming in Kashmir required meticulous planning due to its complex terrain. Despite these logistical hurdles, he believes that capturing the region's beauty was essential for the story. The commitment to portraying both the scenic beauty and underlying tensions of Kashmir demanded full dedication from the team.

The director emphasised that Kashmir isn't just a backdrop but an integral character in Tanaav 2. He stated, "The process was simple. I tried to do justice to the emotions of the script written. Cinematically, you have to do justice. This season there's a lot going on in each of the characters' individual arcs and their interpersonal relationships. My main aim was to stick to the running central theme. That had to hold on its own and cannot be overpowered by other arcs."

Visual Appeal and Storytelling

Niwas also discussed how important it was for him to stay true to the script's emotions while filming Tanaav 2. He aimed to balance individual character arcs with the central theme without letting any single element overshadow another.
