Check out excerpts from the interview:
1) What insights can you share about your evolving career and the roles you've taken on?
OTT platforms have played a major role in shaping my career. They've given me opportunities to explore characters and stories that I might not have otherwise had access to , in mainstream media. Being part of OTT projects has been a turning point, as they allow me to take on roles that challenge me and resonate with diverse audiences.
2) How does your character in Half Love Half Arranged reflect the changing dynamics of relationships today?
The show explores various relationships, not just romantic ones. My character, Ria, has significant connections with her family, friends, coworkers, and siblings. What stands out is the acceptance and openness these relationships embody. It's a safe space where people can share their opinions and feelings freely. On the romantic front, it portrays the challenges of timing and circumstances in relationships. Even when two people are right for each other, external factors can make things complicated. It's a slice-of-life representation that many can relate to, highlighting how relationships can be both fulfilling and complex
3) What was your experience like working on Season 2, and how does it differ from the first season?
Working on Season 2 was an enjoyable yet challenging experience. While there's excitement to take the story to the next level, there's also pressure to match or surpass the success of the first season. Unlike Season 1, where the focus is on establishing the characters and the world, Season 2 delves deeper into their emotions and journeys of the characters For me as an actor, this process was easier because the groundwork for Ria's character was already laid. I had clarity about her tone, and personality, which allowed me to explore her deeper emotional layers. The comfort level with the director and co-actors also made the process more seamless and engaging.
4) How do you prepare for a role that navigates such relatable and complex emotions?
Playing a relatable character is easier because the emotions and situations feel familiar. They may come from personal experiences or stories I've observed in others' lives. To navigate complex emotions, I believe it's important to have a well-rounded life outside work and experiencing life in various ways to help you understand and portray even the simplest of emotions with authenticity.
5) What do you hope audiences take away from your character's journey this season?
I hope the audience enjoys the show. It's meant to be light, breezy, and entertaining, perfect for watching with family, friends, or partners. When it comes to my character, Ria, I want viewers to smile every time they think of her. She's someone who follows her heart and stays true to her moral compass. I hope that inspires people to pursue what they truly believe in and avoid things that don't resonate with them.
