Gunaah Director Anil Senior Says, "The Adaptation Process Was A Thrilling But Challenging Journey"

With a gripping tale of betrayal and the complexities of love, Disney+ Hotstar presents yet another riveting drama series, Gunaah. Leading the cast in this gripping series are none other than actors Gashmeer Mahajani, Zayn Ibad Khan, and Surbhi Jyoti. Their portrayal promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, as they navigate the intricacies of their characters with depth and authenticity. Speaking on the process of developing this show and the challenges he faced, Director Anil Senior stated, "The adaptation process was a thrilling but challenging journey. We began by meticulously dissecting the original series Ezel, identifying its core strengths and elements that needed adaptation for an Indian context. Then, a team of talented writers collaborated to craft a new narrative that honored the essence of the original while infusing it with Indian sensibilities. Striking the right balance between staying true to the source material and creating something new and distinct was a constant juggling act. We were mindful of adapting cultural references and social dynamics so that they felt authentic to the Indian audience without losing the universal appeal of the story. Given the show's ambitious scope, coordinating filming schedules, locations, and cast availability required meticulous planning."

Produced under the banner of Bodhi Tree Multimedia Ltd, with producers Sukesh Dev Motwani, Mautik Tolia, and Persis Siganporia, the series brings together a talented cast comprising of Gashmeer Mahajani and Surbhi Jyoti. Directed by Anil Senior and Showrunner Anirudh Pathak.
