Heeramandi Cast: Which Roles Would Rekha, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor, Mahira Khan Fit In SLB's Directorial?

Heeramandi Cast: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's OTT debut Heeramandi has started streaming on Netflix. The series stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal in the lead roles. The reviews have been mixed for the series, and while everyone is praising the performances of all the actresses, Sharmin's act has failed to impress the critics and the audiences.

A few days ago, in an interview Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed that many years ago, he was planning to make Heeramandi as a movie, and had Rekha, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Rani Mukerji in his mind to play the leads. Later, he had also considered casting Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan in the lead roles.

Well now, Heeramandi is made as a series with a totally different cast. But, we decided to list down that if the film was made with the original cast which actress / actor would fit in which roles...

Rekha as Mallika Jaan (Played by Manisha)

Manisha is the senior most in the cast right now, so, if SLB would have made Heeramandi with the original cast that he had in mind, of course, Rekha would be seen as Mallika Jaan. While Manisha has nailed it in the series, we are sure even Rekha would have carried the role amazingly.

Kareena Kapoor Khan as Fareedan / Rehnana (Played by Sonakshi)

Sonakshi Sinha has given her caeer's best performance in Heeramandi as Fareedan and Rehana. While the former has grey shades, the latter is totally negative. Well, it would have been great to watch Kareena playing this double role in the movie.

Rani Mukerji as Bibbojaan (Played by Aditi)

From Tawaif to freedom fighter, Bibbojaan's character has multiple layers. While Aditi has done justice to the role, Rani Mukerji would have been the perfect choice to the character. Rani would have carried the role of Bibbojaan wonderfully.

Mahira Khan as Alamzeb (Played by Sharmin)

Sharmin has clearly failed to do justice to the role of Alamzeb. She has been given the maximum screen time in the series. So, if Mahira would be there in Heeramandi, she would have suited the part of Alamzeb, and we are sure she would have given a very good performance.

Fawad Khan as Tajdar (Played by Taha)

Taha Shah Badussha has given a fantastic performance in Heeramandi. But, if SLB would have made the movie or series with Fawad, the Pakistani actor have suited the part.

Heeramandi Review

Heeramandi is getting mixed reviews from the critics and audiences. Filmibeat's reviewer wrote, "Overall, Heeramandi The Diamond Bazaar is an entertaining series, but yes, after five episodes it does look stretched. If you are a Bhansali, Manisha, and Sonakshi fan, then of course this is a must-watch for you. Others too can surely give it try and can watch it once."
