Heeramandi Twitter (X) Review: Netizens Reveal What’s Good & What’s Bad In Sanjay Leela Bhansali Directorial

Heermandi What's Good What's Bad: Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been one of the finest filmmakers in the industry who has given us several iconic films like Bajirao Mastani, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and many more. And now, the legendary director is all over the headlines for his recent release Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar (Heeramandi). The period drama has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year for several reasons.
To begin with, it marks Bhansali's first ever web series. Besides, it comes with a stellar cast of Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sharmin Segal. Interestingly, Heermandi revolves around lives of tawaifs at the red-light district of Heera Mandi in Lahore during the Indian independence movement against the British Raj. The trailer of this much talked about trailer has left the audience wanting for more. And now that Heeramandi is out on Netflix, the audience reveals what's good and what's bad in the period drama.
What's Bad in Heeramandi:
Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, a user called Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama boring with a weak storyline. The tweet read as, "My quick thoughts on #Heeramandi Sonakshi Sinha follows up Dahaad with a power house performance to the point that the show becomes weaker when it looses focus from the Game Of Thrones war between her and Manisha Koirala's MalikaJaan"
What's Good In Heeramandi:
On the other hand, the audience has been in awe of the first episode of Heeramandi. A user wrote, "#Heeramandi first episode is Brilliant! @iamsanjeeda as Waheeda is lit. Goosebumps in her scenes..also that chorwala scene". Another user tweeted, "#Heeramandi is fascinating. Half way through the 1st episode & relishing every scene. For a #SanjayLeelaBhansali fan it is like having 8 films by him... together. #SonakshiSinha is stunning & @mkoirala steals the show. Dont want this extravaganza to end".
Meanwhile talking about Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali called it his biggest project. I've made big films, I enjoy making those big-scale films, and it comes naturally to me. But while shifting to digital, I've taken it up a notch. Heeramandi is my biggest project; I wanted to make it really special, and I have surprised myself with this one. This is an epic, first-of-its-kind series based on the courtesans of Lahore. It is an ambitious, grand and all-encompassing series; therefore I am nervous yet excited about making it. I am looking forward to my partnership with Netflix and bringing Heeramandi to audiences all over the world".
