Maidaan OTT Release Date, Platform: When Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan arrived in the cinema halls, movie buffs expected the movie to rake in big moolah at the box office. Despite positive reviews, the sports drama couldn't set the cash registers jingling.

MAIDAAN BOX OFFICE COLLECTION: FILM TO CROSS RS 50 CRORE?

Maidaan released along with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starter Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Both films failed to strike a chord with the audience even when the makers left no stone inturned to promote their respective projects. While Maidaan received good word-of-mouth publicity, BMCM had massive promotions before the release. However, nothing worked for BMCM and Maidaan.

Despite being Eid releases, the box office collection of Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyaan didn't surpass the budget of the respective films. Industry experts were surprised to see the low box office numbers and mentioned that the movies ideally would have performed better but the audience didn't like the content.

Earlier this week, Bollywood critic and trade expert Taran Adarsh revealed that Maidaan is inching closer to Rs 50-crore mark. He said that the lack of big releases benefited the sports drama, which has been directed by Amit Sharma.

"Lack of major releases is benefiting #Maidaan... Nears ₹ 50 cr mark... However, the overall total remains way below-the-mark," Adarsh tweeted. Check out his full post right here!

The makers have remained tight-lipped about the OTT release of Maidaan. Earlier there were rumors that ZEE5, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video are in contention for the streaming rights of Maidaan. However, there's no official confirmation about the streaming partner of Maidan.

According to the latest buzz, there are speculations that Maidaan might premiere on ZEE5. Considering the film released on April 10, 2024, it is safe to assume that Maidaan would be available for streaming on OTT after the eight-week window is over. If it happens, one can stream the movie on his/her mobile, desktop or television in the second half of June 2024.
