Exclusive! Mukul Chadda Reveals, "People Said How Did You Get The Guts To Step Into Steve Carell's Shoes"

Mukul Chadda is one of the most talented actors we have in Bollywood. He has left a mark with his performances in movies and web series like Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Gurgaon, Sherni, The Office, Sunflower, and others. He will next be seen in a movie titled Fairy Folk which also stars his wife and actress Rasika Dugal.

Filmibeat recently interacted with Mukul, and when asked him if he feels any pressure while signing a project as audience would expect something good from him, the actor said, "I got this question a lot when I did The Office. People said how did you get the guts to step into Steve Carell's shoes, and honestly I didn't even think about it. For me, it was just a great character to play and getting an opportunity. I didn't even think about filling someone's shoes. It's a great character and opportunity and you can't say no to it."

Further talking about his movie, Fairy Folk, Mukul revealed, "This film is an improvised film. While Karan had written the structure of the screenplay, he purposely didn't write any dialogues for a scene. A scene was like a three to four lines description of roughly what happens in the scene. He left entirely to the actors, like how they want to approach it, what dialogues they would say, and how we want to move in the space."

"We would to long takes, the shortest take must be 7 minutes and the longest take must be 25 minutes, and it was up to him how to edit it and bring it out. So, it was very unusual storytelling about this mystical creature that comes into real world, and how it affects their lives," he added.

Fairy Folk is slated to release in theatres on 1st March 2024.
