Directed by Vinil Mathew, the 'Haseena' of Haaseen Dillruba, Taapsee Pannu, was obsessed with pulp-fiction crime-thriller novels. The 2021 film revolved around Rani's (Taapsee) twisted love story with simple and honest guy Rishu (Vikrant). Rani always wanted her life to be as thrilling as the novels by Dinesh Pandit which she would read. Her mundane married life takes a dramatic after Neel's (Harshvardhan Rane) entry. After Rani confesses about her steamy extra-marital affair with Neel to her husband Rishu, their marital life takes a violent turn due to Rihsu's rage. Despite Rishu's violent outbursts, he reconciles with Rani. Neel made a comeback to their lives and threatened them to leak Rani's intimate pics. Rani ended up killing Neel accidentally after she hit him with a frozen leg of mutton. Instead of calling the police, Rishu staged his own death, inspired by Rani's favorite pulpy crime novel. He also cut his own arm to mislead the police. However, the police eventually solved the mystery and realized that they replicated the novel's ending. The film ended with scene, in which Rani-Rishu reunite and start a new life together in a new city.
