Rautu Ka Raaz OTT Release: Anand Surapur is a proud man as his recent film Rautu Ka Raaz has received a mind-boggling response from the audience. The mystery thriller starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui garnered a positive reaction from all the corners, grabbing eyeballs upon its premiere on ZEE5.

As he exclusively interacted with Filmibeat, Anand Surapur spoke about casting Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rajesh Kumar for the film. He also shared an interesting update about the film's sequel.

ON RAUTU KA RAAZ SUCCESS

Anand was enjoying a blissful vacation in the mountains when he talked about the film. He said that he is 'indeed on cloud nine' when we asked him about his emotions.

"I am actually in the mountains, so definitely I am on cloud nine. I am literally in the clouds. It reinforces that whatever you are doing, is working well. This has been in the works for the past 10 years, especially the writing. This is quite unexpected as you never know what works or not. It is like a lottery Even big filmmakers like Spielberg won't know if their films will work or not," he quipped.

"There are times when the audiences have not been able to connect with the content. So, I have made sure that I write and produce content that can resonate well with the viewers. The dynamics keep on changing in today's space as there is 'fast consumption'. The attention span has changed considerably. Having said that, if you are still true to your work, there's a worldwide audience. At the end of the day, your skills matter. We have to put all our efforts," he added.

RAUTU KA RAAZ CASTING

When we asked Anand about casting Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rajesh Kumar in the film, the director said that Nawaz was always the first choice. "His demeanor played a big role in casting him for Rautu Ka Raaz. Considering his acting prowess and ability to transform himself, we decided to go ahead with only him," Anand quipped.

"We were seeing a bunch of actors. I saw Rajesh shooting for a film in Delhi and I felt that he fit the role perfectly. I didn't follow his previous work on TC. Nawaz's features and appearance are different than Rajesh and this makes for interesting physical comedy on the screen," he said.

RAUTU KA RAAZ SEQUEL

Is Rautu Ka Raaz's sequel on the cards? Anand was quick enough to respond- "It will depend on the OTT platform and the studio as they have the rights. If they greenlit the signal, I will be happy to take things forward."
