Romance In The House revolves around Byeon Mu-Jin, whose failed business ventures lead to a strained relationship with his family. After his divorce from Geum Ye-Yeon, with whom he has two children-Mi-Rae and Hyun-Jae-Mu-Jin finds himself distanced from them. Geum Ye-Yeon takes on the responsibility of raising their children alone, working part-time at a large mart. Mi-Rae, now a managing director at the same mart, also contributes to supporting the family.

The plot thickens when Mu-Jin returns as the new owner of their residential building, aiming to mend his relationship with Geum Ye-Yeon. Mi-Rae is resistant to this change, while Hyun-Jae is more receptive to reconciling with their father. Complicating matters further, Mi-Rae begins a romantic relationship with Nam Tae-Pyeong, a former taekwondo athlete now working as a security guard at the mart, who hides his connection to the store's ownership.

The series features an impressive cast: Ji Jin-hee (Designated Survivor: 60 Days) as Byeon Mu-Jin, Kim Ji-soo (365: Repeat the Year) as Geum Ye-Yeon, Son Na-eun (The Most Beautiful Goodbye) as Byeon Mi-Rae, Yoon San-ha (Crazy Love) as Byeon Hyun-Jae, and Choi Min-ho (Medical Top Team) as Nam Tae-Pyeong.
