Romance In The House follows the story of Byeon Mu-Jin, whose failed business endeavors have created a rift between him and his family. Following his divorce from Geum Ye-Yeon, with whom he has two children-Mi-Rae and Hyun-Jae-Mu-Jin becomes estranged from them. Geum Ye-Yeon is left to raise their children on her own, working part-time at a large mart to make ends meet. Meanwhile, Mi-Rae, who is now a managing director at the mart, also plays a crucial role in supporting the family.

The narrative takes a turn when Mu-Jin returns as the new owner of their apartment building, hoping to reconcile with Geum Ye-Yeon. Mi-Rae is resistant to this development, while Hyun-Jae is open to reuniting with their father. Furthermore, Mi-Rae embarks on a romantic relationship with Nam Tae-Pyeong, a former taekwondo champion who is now employed as a security guard at the mart. Nam Tae-Pyeong keeps his connection to the store's ownership a secret, adding complexity to the story.

The series boasts a talented cast: Ji Jin-hee (Designated Survivor: 60 Days) as Byeon Mu-Jin, Kim Ji-soo (365: Repeat the Year) as Geum Ye-Yeon, Son Na-eun (The Most Beautiful Goodbye) as Byeon Mi-Rae, Yoon San-ha (Crazy Love) as Byeon Hyun-Jae, and Choi Min-ho (Medical Top Team) as Nam Tae-Pyeong.
