Yek Number OTT Release EXCLUSIVE! Sayli Patil Reveals Why She Signed Film & Found Her Character Appealing

Yek Number OTT Release on ZEE5: Sayli Patil is on cloud nine as she has received critical acclaim for her performance in Yek Number. As the film had its world digital premiere on ZEE5, the actress interacted with Filmibeat and spoke about her character, sharing the reason why she signed the film.

1. What appealed to you about your character and the story that made you say yes to this film?

Ans: The character Pinky is a strong and firm girl who truly stands out because of her clear thought process and deep devotion to her idol Raj Thackeray and his ideology, and I love that she's headstrong and unafraid to be different. The story itself was incredibly engaging, it conveyed exactly the thoughts and emotions it needed to with great impact. I felt the idiology, the whole team, role, paired with such a powerful narrative, was something I absolutely wanted to be a part of.

2. Yek Number has a unique blend of love, romance and social themes. How did you approach your character to bring out the authenticity of the character?'

Ans: While Shooting Yek Number is focused on learning the details of the language and its dialects so I could portray the characters better. I also had the opportunity to narrate the film, which allowed me to connect even more with the story and its themes. which was a significant aspect of the film's authenticity and the character. Speaking the language naturally helped me connect better with my co-stars and the crew, creating a more authentic environment on set.

3. Could you share any personal challenges you faced while preparing for this role? Was there a particular scene or emotion that was difficult to capture?

Ans: Fortunately, everything felt simpler because of the supportive team, Rajesh sir's clear direction, and the freedom he gave me to bring my own personality into Pinky's character. Pinky is a completely different person by the end of the film, so to show that change, I prepared her mood and mindset before each scene. This approach helped me bring out her layers and capture her growth on screen.
