Detective Sherdil: Sumeet On His Experience Of Working With Diljit; Says ‘He’s A Very Humble Person’ | EXCL

Sumeet Vyas, the name needs no introduction. The renowned actor-director has been a part of several popular films and like English Vinglish, Parched, Veere Di Wedding etc, Adwaah, Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video and even directed series like TVF Tripling, Raat Jawaan Hai etc. And now he has been the talk of the town for his recently released mystery comedy Detective Sherdil. The movie features Diljit Dosanjh in the lead along with Diana Penty, Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah, Chunky Panday, and Banita Sandhu.

Released in June on Zee5, Detective Sherdil is directed by Ravi Chhabriya and revolves around a detective who has been given the case to solve the murder mystery of an Indian-origin telecom tycoon. While the movie opened to mixed review, Sumeet's performance as Angad Bhatti has been grabbing a lot of eyeballs. And while he is overwhelmed with the praises coming his way, he was all praises for the entire cast of the film and called it a 'dream cast for any film'.

Interestingly, Detective Sherdil marks Sumeet's first collaboration with Diljit Dosanjh. So, during an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, when Sumeet was quizzed about his experience of working with the Punjabi singer-actor, he was all praises for the Punjabi 1984 star. Sumeet stated, "It was very nice. We had 3-4 scenes. But jitna bhi humne waqt bitaya wahan par, bahut acha tha. He is a very very quiet, very humble person, generally keeps to himself, very professional, prepared for his role. So, it was an enjoyable experience with him".

For the uninitiated, Detective Sherdil also marks Sumeet's second collaboration with Boman Irani after Made In China. Speaking of the reunion, Sumeet stated, "It was a lot of fun. Boman is a such a wonderful human being besides being such a great actor. He really likes to take care of his junior actors. He's quite an old school guy".

Meanwhile, Sumeet is looking forward to the release of his new web series with Hotstar. While he didn't divulge in any details, the actor stated that the series is likely to be released in 2025.
